Just a few blocks down from the fabulous Fox Theatre, Baraonda Caffe Italiano offers authentic Italian cuisine that makes the perfect start to your evening in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. This trendy restaurant has traditional Italian pizzas and pastas that will make you believe you are really in a cafe in Italy.

The pizza at Baraonda is outstanding! Unlike American pizza, traditional Italian pizza consists of a thin dough covered in tomatoes, cheese and fresh herbs that is baked to a crispy perfection in a brick oven. Once you try Baraonda’s pizza, you will never be satisfied with anything but authentic Italian pizza.

For a simple pizza, I recommend the Caprese made with buffalo-mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. The buffalo-mozzarella has a noticeably richer flavor than regular mozzarella and the juicy cherry tomatoes pop in your mouth. If you’re a fan of goat cheese, try the Specialita pizza which is topped with goat cheese, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and arugula. The biting flavor of the arugula contrasts nicely with the creamy cheese. There is also the Ciociare pizza which is topped with smoked mozzarella, tomato, red pepper, olives, goat cheese and basil.

If you’re a vegan, don’t think that you can’t enjoy a delicious authentic pizza. Order the Capricciosa pizza without the cheese or ham. The tomato sauce, olives, mushrooms, and artichokes pack enough flavor to make this a delicious vegan friendly pizza. With most pizzas at $8, Baraonda is an affordable taste of authentic Italian that you can’t miss!
