Pronounced sa-by-dee, SbyDee is one of my Atlanta favorites for Thai food. This restaurant on 10th Street is easy to miss, but not easy to forget. The menu offers a variety of traditional Thai foods and each meal can be made with tofu, making this restaurant a vegetarian and vegan heaven.
The ambiance of the restaurant adds to the appeal. The interior is very open and calming. The waiters are attentive, yet unobtrusive, and if the restaurant is not busy, they often will bring out a complementary vegetable broth soup.
Vegetarian favorites include the basil tofu dish. The sautéed green and red peppers add a crisp crunch to the spicy basil sauce. In all the dishes, the tofu is tender and not dry from overcooking.
Be sure to order a pot of green tea! Dessert is also a must, and I recommend the fried coconut ice-cream.
With most dishes between $10 and $15, SybDee is one Thai restaurant you should not miss. SbyDee Thai 132 10th St NE Atlanta, GA 30309 (404) 888-0868
